What is SubID Tracking?
Custom parameters an affiliate passes through a link to break their own reporting down by placement or campaign.
SubIDs are free-form tags (sub1, sub2, …) an affiliate appends to their link so their reporting splits by whatever they choose — placement, campaign, creative, traffic source. The values pass through the click and come back on the conversion, so the affiliate sees which specific placement actually converts.
Example: sub1=newsletter&sub2=headline-a versus sub1=twitter&sub2=bio — same deal, but now the affiliate knows the newsletter headline is carrying the revenue.
